A Prayer For Humility With Bible References

Gracious Father, I come before you humbly, recognizing that true humility is a virtue that comes from you alone. Your Word teaches us the importance of humility and its significance in our relationship with you and others.

Lord, I pray that you would cultivate humility in my heart. Help me to have a lowly estimation of myself and to recognize that apart from you, I am nothing (James 4:10). Teach me to rely on your strength and wisdom rather than my own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).

I ask for the grace to be humble in my interactions with others. Help me to consider others as more important than myself, to serve them selflessly, and to show kindness and compassion (Philippians 2:3-4). May my words and actions reflect the humility of Christ, who came not to be served but to serve (Mark 10:45).

Lord, guard my heart against pride and arrogance. Keep me from seeking recognition and praise for my own accomplishments. Instead, help me to give you all the glory and honor, acknowledging that every good thing comes from you (James 1:17).

I pray for the strength to forgive those who have wronged me and to extend grace and mercy, just as you have shown me. Help me to let go of bitterness and resentment, and to walk in forgiveness (Colossians 3:13).

Father, I ask for your guidance and wisdom in making decisions. Help me to seek your will above my own desires and to submit to your plans for my life. May I trust in your sovereignty and acknowledge that you are in control (Proverbs 16:9).

Thank you, Lord, for the example of humility that Jesus demonstrated during his earthly ministry. Help me to follow in his footsteps, imitating his meekness and humility (Matthew 11:29).

In all things, may your grace and love shine through me, that others may see your humility reflected in my life. May I be a vessel of your grace and a testimony to your transforming power.

I pray all these things in the name of Jesus, who humbled himself for our sake. Amen.
