A Prayer For Holiness Of Heart With Bible References

Dear Heavenly Father, I come before you, recognizing your holiness and desiring to be holy as well. I long to be set apart unto you, living a life that is pleasing and worthy of you. Please search my heart and reveal any cherished sin that may be lurking within me. I ask that you would destroy it, for I know that only those with clean hands and a pure heart can stand in your presence.

Purify my heart, cleanse my inner thoughts, and examine the motives behind my actions and attitudes. I desire to live in holiness of heart, so I ask that you would reveal anything that is displeasing to you in my life. By your grace, root out anything that hinders me from living a life of godly holiness, clothed in the righteousness of Christ.

Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may be holy. Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work may be holy. Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I may love only what is holy. Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy. Guard me, O Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy.

Lord, I thank you for the new resurrection life of Christ that you have breathed into me. I desire to be led by your Holy Spirit and to walk in spirit and truth. Open the eyes of my heart to perceive your vision for my sanctification.

Your Word teaches us that holiness is not just an external act but a matter of the heart. Help me to look to Christ as my holiness and to pursue the disciplines of the Christian life. May I daily engage in Scripture reading, prayer, worship, and accountability to other believers. Grant me the submission and faith to live out holiness in my daily life.

I pray that you would discipline me for my good, that I may share in your holiness. Though discipline may be painful in the moment, I trust that it will yield the peaceful fruit of righteousness in my life.

Thank you, Lord, for your grace and power that enable me to pursue holiness. Help me to rest in your providence, rejoice in Christ, and bear the peaceful fruit of righteousness. May my life be a reflection of your holiness and love for the Church.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
